Photography & Video Policy.

Meanwood Cricket Club is keen to promote positive images of children playing cricket. This policy exists, therefore, to best safeguard the interests of children involved with the club or playing matches involving the club.

  1. Images and video is not to be taken at matches or training without the prior permission of the parents/ carers of the child. This permission can be given by proxy by the coach of each team only after parental consent has been granted. This is arranged at Meanwood CC through the tick-box on the Junior player registration form.

  2. If no consent has been given on the player registration form, the coach or team manager is to be made aware of this; the coach or team manager of the other team in any match is also to be made aware of this.

  3. Children should be informed if a person will be taking photographs.

  4. Children should be informed that, if they have concerns, they can report these to the coach or team manager.

  5. Concerns regarding inappropriate or intrusive photography should be reported to the Club Safeguarding Officer and recorded in the same manner as any other child protection concern.

  6. Parental permission will be sought before using photographs/images of their child(ren) and wherever possible the parents and child(ren) will be shown the image in advance. This ensures that parents and children are aware of the way the image will be used to represent cricket and the club.

  7. If the cricketer is named, avoid using their photograph; if a photograph is used, avoid naming the child.

  8. Only images of children in appropriate training or competition kit should be used.

  9. If any photographic or video analysis for training purposes is undertaken, it should only be undertaken by qualified ECB coaches. The material must be stored securely and deleted or destroyed when requested by parents/carers or when no longer needed.
